SBU’s men’s tennis team won back-to-back nail-biters on April 6 and April 12 against Northwest Missouri State University and Ouachita University, respectively. The Bearcats came away from both contests with a 4-3 win. Adding three more dominant showings in the past three weeks, SBU boasts a 13-2 record while riding a six-game winning streak.

On the women’s side of things, the Bearcats have been as busy as ever. With six matches in the past three weeks, SBU escaped with four victories. One of the two losses came at the hands of #5 Washburn University; the match was held in Bolivar and the Bearcats narrowly lost, 4-3. This loss brings the Bearcats record to 9-6 on the season.

Anticipation builds as each team only has two games remaining in the regular season. How far will the Bearcats go in the postseason? Only time will tell.

The baseball season has passed the halfway point. Over the past three weeks, the Bearcats have remained relatively consistent, winning four games while dropping six. This fits in with their overall season record of 13-23. With six straight games at Dodson Field, perhaps the Bearcats can turn their season around.

The previous three weeks were not as kind to the Bearcats’ softball team. Going 2-16 over that stretch, SBU claims a 5-37 record on the season. One thing to note, the girls are 5-9 at home, which shows the support they receive from the hometown fans.

The golf season is wrapping up for both the men and women’s teams. The women, who have already completed their regular season, finished the season with 14th and 20th-place finishes in their final two tournaments. They will participate in the MIAA Conference tournament on April 22-24.

The men’s team still has one tournament remaining, the SBU Bearcat Invitational. Hosting the final tournament of their regular season, the Bearcats look to improve upon their 11th-place finish in the Lindenwood Invitational. In said tournament, Matthew Chandler continued his excellent season and finished third overall.
