SBU’s football, volleyball, and soccer seasons all came to an abrupt end in early November; the basketball season is just beginning. Here is how the Bearcats have fared in their recent efforts:

The Bearcats finished their season in Quincy, Illinois, where they took on the Hawks of Quincy University. The game ended in a narrow 24-21 defeat for SBU, which secured a winless season for the Bearcats. Two seasons removed from a MIAA Championship, the Bearcats will look to return to their winning ways when they return to the gridiron for the 2019 season.

SBU’s volleyball season concluded with a 1-3 loss to the University of Central Missouri Mules. The loss pushed the Bearcats to 0-18 in MIAA Conference play and 4-27 overall. The Bearcats did not qualify for the MIAA Conference Tournament but will look to turn things around in the 2019 season.

SBU’s men’s and women’s soccer teams wrapped their seasons up on November 4 and October 28, respectively. The men’s team finished the 2018 campaign 1-16 overall with an 0-8 record in MIAA Conference play. Winning two of their last four games of the season, the women’s team finished on a triumphant note. Though they ended with a 2-14-2 record in 2018, the 2019 season looks promising for the young Bearcats soccer squad.

Basketball is back! The Bearcats opened up their men’s and women’s seasons by playing three of their first four games at home. The lone road game for both teams was played in Springfield, Missouri, in the annual Catfight between SBU and archrival Drury University. Both teams have started the year 2-2 and lost their only road game to the Panthers. The women’s team, led by 10 juniors and seniors, and the men’s team, led by six upperclassmen, are on pace for excellent 2018-2019 campaigns.
