Op-Ed | Yes, I am a Republican.

Yes, I am a Republican.

No, I do not wave a confederate flag, nor do I believe that it is right.


Yes, I am a Republican.

No, I do not think anyone and everyone should be able to purchase a firearm.


Yes, I am a Republican.

No, I do not think that all immigrants are criminals and that we shouldn’t let immigrants into this country.


Yes, I am a Republican.

No, I don’t think all Muslims are apart of Radical Islam.


Yes, I am a Republican.

Yes, I do accept people no matter their race, religion, or sexual orientation. It’s not my right to tell someone who they can or can’t be.


Yes, I am a Republican.

Yes, I do believe in saving our planet/environment.


Yes, I am a Republican.

No, I don’t think that Donald Trump is the greatest president of all time.


Yes, I am a Republican.

Yes, I have friends who are Democrats and, believe it or not, we respect each other's opinions and we remain friends.


Yes, I am a Republican.

No, I am not an animal and yes, I do have a heart.



Before you make assumptions about a person based on who they voted for, get to know them and try to understand why they support what they do. Respect the people around you no matter what they believe. Just because someone has a different opinion than yours, does not mean that they are less than you. Be accepting and be kind. Don’t we all learn as kids to treat others the way we want to be treated? Why can’t we do that as adults? We need to stop throwing cat fights over social media, and just show love and acceptance. That doesn’t mean you have to agree, just show some respect.


Could you imagine an America where everyone just respected each other? What a beautiful place it would be.
