Oscar Wilde's comedic masterpiece, "The Importance of Being Earnest," is brought to life on SBU's stage this weekend, November 8 through 10.

Brandon Pool (John Worthing) and Max Stoner (Algernon Moncrieff) form a stellar comedic duo. Both Pool and Stoner have distinct physical comedy styles, which adds new layers to this already phenomenal show.

Supporting actors of note include Sophia Marsh (Gwendolen Fairfax) and Joel Walley (Rev. Chasuble). Marsh instantly commands attention as soon as she enters the stage, portraying the high society romantic with confidence and grace. Walley's stellar physical comedy and command of vocal variation make him a notable edition to the impressive cast.

Lighting, designed by Daniel Stucky, perfectly complimented the ingenious set, designed by Alexa Bell, and costuming by Bethany Vermillion. The execution of the production was smooth and professional under the direction of stage manager Brittany Davis.

SBU Theatre's "The Importance of Being Earnest" is another success, and very highly recommended. Be sure to catch one of the three 7:00 performances this weekend. Tickets can be purchased at the box office in the Jester Learning and Performing Arts Center.
