Pritchard, Carney to perform recital Oct. 2
BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University alumna Traci Pritchard and SBU faculty member Dr. Robert Carney will be performing a recital of German art songs at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus.
Pritchard has been described as an expressive, “golden-voiced” soprano (Springfield News-Leader), who is known for her interpretation of Mozart roles, such as Donna Anna, Donna Elvira, Fiordiligi and Queen of the Night. Her most recent performance was with Opera Breve in New York City as Michaela in Bizet’s “Carmen.”
In 2013, Pritchard was selected as a Professional Fellow by Song Fest, the United States’ premier art song festival and training program in Los Angeles. She will be accompanied on piano by Dr. Carney, associate professor of music at SBU.
The recital program, which is free and open to the public, will feature works by Schumann, Strauss, Mahler, Marx and Wolf.
