Shawnee, Okla. - Saturday marked day two of the GAC/MIAA Crossover Volleyball Tournament in Shawnee, OK. The Bearcats picked up a victory against East Central, but dropped their game against Oklahoma Baptist. Southwest Baptist's record now sits at 4-9 on the year.
In game one, SBU took on East Central, beating them in 4 sets by scores of 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, and 25-20. Greysen Roster, Kalyn Bitner, and Delanie Tipton each finished with double digits in kills. In the assists column, Makenzie Bouse led both teams with 45 and Rachel Pfeifer led the digs category 20.
The Bearcats played Oklahoma Baptist in the final match of the weekend and lost 1 sets to 3. The first and second sets were won by Oklahoma Baptist 25-21 and 25-20 respectively. Southwest Baptist took set number three 25-17, but fell in the fourth set 25-16. Sam Ibarra led the kills column for the Bearcats with 9. Makenzie Bouse picked up a double-double, getting 35 assists and 14 digs.
Southwest Baptist will hit the road for their first MIAA Conference competition taking on Central Oklahoma on September 14 at 6 PM.
