Poetry | If I Speak

By Caleb Burnham

April 25, 2018

If I speak,

Tyranny comes to an end.

If I speak,

There is someone I will offend.

If I speak,

People can understand.

If I speak,

I can help others in a foreign land.

When I speak,

I am heard.

When I speak,

I speak to the world.

When I speak,

I stand for those in need.

When I speak,

I rise up and take the lead.

I will speak,

My voice I will raise.

I will speak,

Those who are worthy, I will praise.

I will speak

Even when beaten down.

I will speak,

I cannot be bound.
