Poem | Midnight Procrastination

Teagan Taafe

May 9, 2019

This poem is due at the crack of dawn

and I have hardly started.

Maybe I should mull over

the syllabus one final time.

No

that won’t work.

Maybe I should lay down to read more

and wait for inspiration to strike me.

No

that won’t work.

Maybe I should search diligently for a quote

that will conform with what I wish to express.

No

that won’t work

Maybe I should scrawl anything

and see what rollercoaster dream I can ride.

No

that won’t work.

Maybe I should just drop out of school

and never write a poem again.

No.

That won’t work.
