She was wonderful
Oh, I mean,
She is wonderful
She’s gone now, just out of grasp
we agreed it’s for the best to sail our separate courses,
we fit like a Goodwill suit jacket, well but not perfect,
the pain of throwing out an almost perfect painting,
or trashing a book missing one page
Close but no cigar
Almost but not quite
On the edge of the bullseye
That was us
