1. In an 11 minuet address from the White House on Tuesday, Donald Trump abandoned the Obama era nuclear deal that restricted Iran’s nuclear development, claiming it was a “one-sided deal.” The New York Times writes that Trump had tried to dismantle the deal thrice before, but his advisers kept him from doing so. The action is criticized by many and is seen as “isolating the United States from its Western allies and sowing uncertainty before a risky nuclear negotiation with North Korea.” The full transcript of his speech is available here.
2. Arrangements for President Trump to meet President Kim Jong-un of North Korea are going along as planned and the White House promised to release information within the next three days, according to USA Today. This morning Trump released that the the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea will not be the meeting place, but has yet to disclose why or where the meeting will take place. Mike Pompeo disclosed after his visit that arrangements have been made for a one to two day meeting between Trump and Kim Jong-un, though he did not provide any more details.
3. A group of female Nike employees conducted an informal survey about sexual abuse in the workforce, which has led to 11 Nike executives leaving the company due to the ongoing investigation. The New York Times states that the report was submitted to Mark Parker, the chief executive, on March 5. Ten days later, Nike began announcing that chief executives were moving on. Stock brokers are beginning to wonder how the company will fare with so much of its leadership leaving.
