COM Hiring Part-Time for the Summer

When community members make donations to COM, those donations are gradually sorted, priced, and sold in the Golden Rule Thrift Store. The proceeds that come from the Golden Rule Thrift Store provide over half of the funding for COM’s various ministry endeavors. The sorting aspect may not be the most glamorous form of service, but it is certainly one of the most necessary in COM’s mission to be People Helping People in Polk County.

About Community Outreach Ministries

COM serves as the umbrella name for several ministries that serve Polk County. These include but are not limited to the local Salvation Army Extension Unit, the Food Pantry for Polk County, the Golden Rule Thrift Store, and the meeting of benevolence needs of homeless or financially struggling individuals.
